The June book club meeting has been delayed from June 1st until June 8th. We will be discussing our reader's choice picks for Mental Health Awareness month.

 

Then go home with a copy of "Less" by Andrew Sean Greer. We will meet again to discuss this book on July 6.

What's new at Olive G Pettis this week?

Discovery Park Project

  • As of May 2023, we have reached over 40% of our fundraising goal! With $35,000 already raised, we are well on our way to meet the needed $75,400 in matching funds.
  • Our Discovery Trail volunteer days are ongoing- most Saturdays and Sundays at 10 am. Exception: Saturday June 10th is the Book Sale and we will not be having the trail clean-up on that date. 

General News

  • -The Quilt Raffle was held on Mother's Day, May 14th. Congratulations to the winner and thanks to everyone who participated!

    -The 3rd annual NatureFest was held on May 20th! We had 9 guest organizations tabling, refreshments, raffles, a presentation from NH Humanities, and the StoryWalk! Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success! 

  • The StoryWalk of "Cece loves Science and Adventure" will remain up on the trail for several weeks. You may come to walk the path and read the story as you please!

  • Brand-new picnic table for sale! This table was hand-built by students from the Sugar River Valley regional Tech Center. We are asking for $250 or your best offer.

  • We are currently accepting donations of gently used books (as well as DVDs and CDs) for our annual Book Sale which will be held on June 10th. Drop them off anytime: if we are closed you can place them in the bin on the porch. Thank you for your support

  • Summer Reading is fast approaching. The kickoff event will be held on June 17th from 11 am to 12:30. This year's Summer Reading program is open to students K-12.
