The Olive G Pettis Library Trustees and the Conservation Commission with the support of the Select board are excited to announce that Goshen is now part of the Western New Hampshire Trail Running Series (http://www.wnhtrs.com/) with the first annual Lilyan Wright Memorial Race https://www.runreg.com/lilyan-wright-memorial-10k-trail-race to celebrate the life of Dr. Lilyan Boyd Wright and the town she loved.
It will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our town and show off the trails around and near the Goshen Ocean. There will be a 5k and a 10K distance and the race will be held at Gunnison lake October 2, 2021. The fee to race is $15 dollars and you can sign up through the runreg site shown below.
All money made from the race after paying fees will be donated to the Olive G Pettis Library recreation trail fund.
We are looking for local sponsors to help pay the fees to put on the race. With sponsorship's we can donate more money to the library : ) You can sponsor the race through a business or as a memorial to a loved one. All sponsors will be celebrated on the WNHTRS website and at the race with banners. (We have paperwork ready for those of you wishing to sponsor(donate) for tax purposes). If you are interested in sponsoring the race please email the library.
We want to make the race a true celebration of the town so people interested in setting up vending tables, playing music or selling food should reach out. We will be inviting local conservation and environmental groups to set up information tables to share what they are doing locally. We would love to hear your ideas here to make the day super special and focus on all Goshen has to offer. Also feel free to reach out to the Library Manager, any Library trustee or member of the Conservation Commission with your ideas/questions.
